Dr. Sharif Currimbhoy, MD

Dr. Sharif Currimbhoy, MD, is a Board-Certified dermatologist and Texas native. Born and raised in Dallas, his curiosity and passion for medicine began at a young age and has carried him all around Texas for his training. Dr. Currimbhoy received his Bachelor of Science with honors from The University of Texas at Austin before receiving his medical degree at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. He went on to complete his dermatology training at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, which is ranked as one of the top ten dermatology training departments in the country.

Dr. Currimbhoy has published over 20 medical articles, abstracts, and book chapters. He has lectured at numerous national Dermatology meetings on topics ranging from skin discoloration to blistering skin conditions. His clinical interests include basal and squamous cell skin cancers, melanoma, eczema, warts, psoriasis, rosacea, acne, pigmentary disorders, and skin infections. Dr. Currimbhoy has always believed in treating his patients with the same respect and care as he would want his family member treated. He believes in communication and encourages patients to take an active role in their treatments.

In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his wife, family and friends, following the Dallas Cowboys, and playing basketball in local leagues. Dr. Currimbhoy believes in giving back to his community and participates in annual skin cancer screenings around the DFW Metroplex, including the annual Free Skin Cancer Screening held here in Denton each summer.

Ash Currimbhoy, a dedicated and experienced physician assistant, has spent the past 14 years making a significant impact in the field of dermatology. Ash was born and raised in the small town of Odessa, Texas. His passion for healthcare and a desire to make a meaningful difference in people's lives led him to excel academically and graduate with honors from the University of Texas at Arlington. Ash's pursuit of medical excellence took him to the prestigious University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center (UTSW), where he underwent rigorous training to become a physician assistant. In addition to his clinical duties, Ash has spent time working as an adjunct clinical instructor at the University of North Texas Health Science Center, sharing his knowledge of dermatology and nurturing the next generation of physician assistants.

 

With a comprehensive and broad background in dermatology, Ash's skills shine brightly in his ability to tackle a range of skin conditions. From skin cancer to infections, acne to psoriasis, he demonstrates a deep understanding of dermatological complexities. His approach prioritizes patient comfort, always striving to put individuals at ease and ensuring they receive the best possible care. Each patient is treated with the same consideration he would extend to a beloved family member.

Outside the medical realm, Ash dedicates quality time to exercising and cherishing moments with his wife and three young children. His holistic approach to life enables him to bring a sense of vitality and positivity to both his personal and professional spheres.

Dr. Robert Smith, MD

Dr. Robert C. Smith, MD

Dr. Smith received his bachelor of science, summa cum laude, in biochemistry from Texas A&M University in 1988. He completed medical school at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. After finishing an internship in pediatrics at the Children’s Hospital of Alabama, Birmingham, he returned to UT Southwestern in Dallas for his residency training in dermatology.

Denton Dermatology was started by Dr. Smith as a solo practice in 1996. He has provided medical care to countless patients and greatly values the patient relationships that he has established. Being a longstanding member of Denton’s medical community has given him an unimaginable degree of professional satisfaction. Only the honor of providing years of patient care has been more rewarding.

Dr. Smith resides with his wife and three children in Pilot Point. He still remains active in local medical as well as community organizations after his retirement from Denton Dermatology in 2018.
